Kankesanthurai or KKS is a town with a harbour in the northern Sri Lanka or Jaffna Peninsula. It is the location of the Sri lanka Navy naval Base, SLNS Uttara. The nothern railway line starting from Colombo is ended up in Kankasanturai. Kankasanturai is popular because its harbour and cement factory which supplied a reasonable percentage of country's cement requirement through KKS harbour in early days.
